The head unit is being upgraded to a modern JVC Android Auto and Apple play head unit. One thing that is import is being able to access, play and listen to awesome tunes when driving right?

The pics show the installation process.

The Units USB – This connects to your mobile to run the Android auto on the unit. You do have to cahange a phone setting allowing Android Auto to overlay all other apps

Wheel controls got the volume, source and track selection setup

Radio doesn’t actually sound that bad must be the time of night and working in the car for the last 2 hours.

Rear of the new JVC head unit, the long thick cable is the extenal USB for connection to a mobile for Android Auto

Steering control wires now taped up and isolated

Tape these up with elecrical tape

Steering Wheel Controls – The folded down cut wires are now taped securing to the base of that mini harness

Steering Wheel Controls – The final green wire folded down and taped around

Steering Wheel Controls – Folded the 1st of the two purple wires down into the base of the wire clump then electrical taped around it, Next one of the green wires is folded down and electrical taped rouund

Steering Wheel Controls – The plug the goes to the steering control socket on the head unit. The purple and green ‘looped’ wires have to be cut

Starting to tape up and isolate the unused steering control wires in the head unit.

Don’t forget to snip those wires for this model

These are the pesky ashtray cigarette lighter socket plugs

Here’s the iso connectors that are part of the hrness kit not terminating required for those (don’t need to use the ones that are bare that come with the radio)

Key 1 is the only wire required from the patch harness kit for connecting to the head unit sterring control wire

The remote control cable is bare, have crimped an insulated male plug to connect to the steering wheel patch harness wire Key 1

The black release latch now in the full release mode.

A little tricky to remove from the climate control until you know how. See the little nub infront of the black latch part. Press in the nub and push the black latch toward my eye tattoo 🙂

The 6 CD changer in the boot is fibre conected but no longer required
